Teaching!

Starting the Summer…

Hello family and friends, and welcome to our May update. We are now headed into the summer. We are saying goodbye to one set of students with the discipleship school and shifting gears to prepare for the bible school.

DTS

The Students of the discipleship school are now on outreach, but before they left, I taught in one of their final weeks. The subject was ‘World View’. We had lots of fun, and deep conversations about the roots of a persons beliefs and how those things affect the way we see the world. Also how those beliefs affect how we think about God and the bible.

The students are now on their outreach in Mexico and Honduras.

Salamanca

During Easter, Carmen and I went to Salamanca to help with the church activities. They had a drama and invited many people. I shared the message. Carmen’s sister Lisette, who is a teacher, had a coworker that translated for me.

Zapote de Picachos

If you’re reading this newsletter, you probably know how my journey in missions began. I was in Mexico on a trip visiting, and got stuck for a year during the pandemic. My missionary experience began with a 3 month lockdown in a mountain village called Zapote de Picachos (People of the Peaks). This is the place where i wrestled with God.

I returned to Zapote a few weeks ago with Dale and Jacob and we had a few days to visit. My friends Lily and Felipe also were there with a group from their church in Guadalajara. It felt like going back home, and i was able to remember from where God had brought me. We were able to reconnect with the families there and recommit to sending teams. Dale and I want to climb the mountains again, older bodies permitting. We will return soon if possible.

Thank you for your interest in the ministries and reading this newsletter. God has a plan and we should be seeking him and his heart for people in our lives. Remember to take every opportunity that presents itself, to share the gospel with every person around you. Let’s continue to pray for each other as we build God’s kingdom.
