All good things!
Finishing well…
Hello family and friends, and welcome to our October update. We are now in the middle of the bible school’s lecture phase.
Bible School of the Nations (BSN)
The bible school is going well. We have four students and 3 people auditing.
These are our students:
Ana is Mexican, 27 years old, and has been a staff member at the base for over a year. She did her discipleship school here 3 years ago and has been faithfully serving in many areas.
Esperanza is from Nicaragua. She is 20. Her parents are American missionaries to Nicaragua. This is her first time in Morelia.
Angie is from New Zealand. She is 19. She moved to New Zealand with her mother and siblings when she was very young. They moved to New Zealand to escape war in Ecuador. Angie just recently did her Discipleship school in Mazatlan, Mexico.
Andrea is from Honduras. She is 23 years old. She recently graduated from the same discipleship school as Angie.
The staff of the BSN includes: Daniel and Katie Holmberg who are the directors of the base (Americans). Luis who has been staff at the base for 2 years (Mexican). Luciene who has been staff at the base for 7 years (Brazilian). And Carmen and I.
We have also been the main teachers in the school, but we also have teachers from other bases that have come to support the school.
We are half way through the academic part of the school. In December the students will go on a two month outreach into indigenous villages to teach bible seminars. The goal is to teach the fundamental truths of the bible to those who lack this knowledge. They will also serve the needs of the communities, work with the local churches, and be involved in local ministry opportunities including evangelism.
All good things…
Like the saying goes, “All good things must come to an end”. This season of full time missions is coming to an end for Carmen and I. In January of 2027 we will be moving to The Bahamas for a time and we are excited to be starting a new chapter. This doesn’t mean that we will be totally disconnected from ministry, or that we won’t be back, but there is a time and season for things.
Right now we are focused on finishing well all the things that we have been involved in. This base and this ministry has been important to our lives and God has blessed us greatly. We will be moving, and there are expenses that come with that. If you are interested in helping, the information for giving is below.
We want to thank all of you for your support and for listening to this story over the years. God kidnapped me 7 years ago in the pandemic. Ever since, I’ve been living in a season of seeing God’s great miracles, not only in my life, but in the lives of so many people here in Mexico. The Gospel changes lives, communities, countries, regions, and the whole earth.
2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
There will be one last newsletter for the year, and I will continue to communicate when there is ministry news to share.
Thank you for your interest in the ministries and reading this newsletter. God has a plan and we should be seeking him and his heart for people in our lives. Remember to take every opportunity that presents itself, to share the gospel with every person around you. Let’s continue to pray for each other as we build God’s kingdom.
