Half Way There!

Teaching the Nations…

Hello family and friends, and welcome to our September ‘End of Summer’ update. In this update we have the end of outreach, the end of the bible school, A short term missions trip with Grace Community Church, Local ministry, Family visits, and our base changes locations in the city.

Bible School of the Nations - Outreach and Graduation

The bible school is very close to my heart, and being able to lead it in 2025 has been an awesome opportunity. The last time i shared about it, we were half way through outreach and on our way to Chiapas. In Chiapas we taught a two week seminar in the town of San Caralampio. The people there were mostly of indigenous descent and many had migrated from Guatemala. We taught our seminar and spent time with our fellow YWAM missionary Nery. He works full time in the state of Chiapas as it is his home state.

Our students were mostly teenagers and new members of the church. The people in chiapas are very quiet people. It was a bit difficult with the activities because of their timid nature, but we persisted. After completing all 10 classes, everyone had learned a lot.

While in Chiapas we stayed with a missionary family from Argentina and Colombia.

We returned from outreach to a very empty base. Many people have transitioned out of the base and many had taken their vacation during the summer. So instead of a graduation ceremony, we had a lunch with the base staff that were in the city, and we encouraged the students and celebrated their accomplishments in a much more intimate setting.

Grace Short term Missions - Tapalpa

As you may remember from earlier in the summer, our bible school team taught a seminar for two weeks in a town called Tapalpa. Grace community church which is a great supporter of our ministry here in Mexico, came with their yearly short term team and also visited Tapalpa. We had an awesome time with the Grace team and helped in translation and with their ministries. Their activities included kids ministry and adult study groups. Most of the people that were present from the community were students in the seminars from earlier in the summer. This was great because Carmen and I were able to continue our relationship with the friends we had made and contribute to their further growth as they had formed a new church.

Tapalpa was a great place to visit. We taught and served with the church and community, and the people were awesome. God is definitely doing great things there. Our initial plan was to leave Tapalpa and go to Colombia for a month, but the team lacked the financial support to make that trip. However, there are many wonderful communities in Mexico that need our help and our seminar. We left Tapalpa the way we often do, catching a ride with Saul’s parents on the back of their truck at 5am. They took us to Guadalajara airport where we got on a flight to Chiapas. We will talk about that in the next newsletter. Please pray for us as we are still traveling and sharing our bible seminars.

Thank you for your interest in the ministries and reading this newsletter. God has a plan and we should be seeking him and his heart for people in our lives. Remember to take every opportunity that presents itself, to share the gospel with every person around you. Let’s continue to pray for each other as we build God’s kingdom.
